Drinks with the Dominicans

Join Father Raphael Mary Salzillo, OP and the YAYAs for an important and timely discussion focusing on Referendum 71, Wednesday, October 21st from 7-9pm at the Blue Star Cafe and Pub in Wallingford.

What's Wrong With Referendum 71? A Catholic Perspective.

If Referendum 71 is accepted by Washington voters on November 3rd, it will ratify a legislative decision to give marriage-like benefits to same-sex couples. The Washington Bishops have released a brief statement about Referendum 71. This statement will be the starting point for our discussion about how our Catholic Faith should guide our thinking (and our voting) on this subject.

Pumpkin Patch!

It's Autumn and Halloween is right around the corner... what better time to go to a pumpkin patch, get lost in a corn maze, and then pick out that *perfect* pumpkin?! Come, join the YAYAs for fun-filled afternoon at the Pumpkin Patch!

When: Saturday, October 24th from 11am - 3pm
Where: Enciso Family Farms (19417 196th Avenue SE, Renton, WA)

Enciso Family Farms feature a beautiful barn from the 1800's; tractors from past to present; beautiful scenery for amazing picture opportunities and an Old Country Store with an espresso stand, snacks, a cozy fireplace in addition to the pumpkin patch, farm animals (yes! farm animals!), and corn maze!

Entrance to the farm is free, but there is a small fee associated with buying pumpkins or going through the corn maze. THEY ONLY ACCEPT CASH, so be sure to bring some with ya!

Meet in the Blessed Sacrament parking lot and we'll carpool from there.

40 Days for Life MidWay Rally

40 Days for Life incorporates the power of prayer and fasting along with a physical presence in the community to raise public awareness, and ultimately, to end abortion in America. Throughout this 40 Day period, pro-lifers of all faiths organize groups across the nation to pray peacefully in 12 or 24-hour shifts outside local abortion facilities. So far, the number of babies saved by their presence is 174 in this campaign, over 1,561 total and those are just the ones we know about. You can read more about the campaign here.
Your participation in this campaign is vital to its success. That's why we'd like to invite you out to a special prayer gathering on Saturday, October 17th from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the vigil site by the north entrance to Planned Parenthood at: 2001 E Madison St, Seattle, WA 98122. There will be prayer, song, reflections, and a chance for you to make a peaceful, public stand against abortion in the community. "Living the truth in love, we will grow in every way into him who is the head, Christ." (Eph 4:15)

Holy Hour

“Our lives must be woven around the Eucharist...fix your eyes on Him Who is the light; bring your hearts close to His Divine Heart; ask Him to grant you the grace of knowing Him, the love of loving Him, the courage to serve Him. Seek Him fervently.”
- Blessed Teresa of Calcutta

It's time for our monthly Young Adult Holy Hour. Join us, Friday, October 9th from 7-8pm at the Newman Center for an hour of reflection, rosary recitation, music, and prayer all in the presence of our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.
